lessons from the japan tsunami and earthquake

The decision of German chancellor Angela Markel to shut down several nuclear reactors for maintenance, in view of what has occurred in Japan during the recent earth quake and tsunami, makes some sense but also flies in the face of earlier decisions for Germany to stop relying on nuclear power which her government postponed to the year 2030. The German people have to be congratulated for their behavior since the Second World War, for avoiding wars and other man made disasters.
This means they learnt their lesson and were sorry for the role played by their compatriots in causing human suffering especially during the holocaust. Their criticism of the decision to postpone, the shutting down of nuclear reliance forever, shows the resolve of the German public to promote world peace and contribute to the lessening of public suffering. Whereas some nations like Iran have maintained that their nuclear power is meant for peaceful purposes and others like Israel have never confirmed about their nuclear capability, the Japan disaster goes on to show that we are all missing the point.
It can never be overemphasized that it really does not matter what the intention is when an already powerful nation like America continues to hold on to nuclear weapons despite seeking to prevent other nations from possessing  them , arguing that they can be immoral enough or crazy enough to use them.
Accidents and natural calamities are bound to occur and that is when valuable lessons can be learnt.Chernobyl is still fresh and Japans is ongoing and we all wish radiation won’t cause too much human suffering.
So we don’t have to have a war for us to be affected by the nuclear facilities that we posses for whatever reasons whether peaceful or not. The only thing I know is that people in Japan were not fighting anyone but there is no peace there.   My take is that world nations should cease the hypocrisy and take responsibility for human suffering.
The Japanese have been affected by nuclear energy once before and whether it was their fault or not, America should take more responsibility for bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki by doing more than they have done already.

MR SHARDRACK

Mr.. shardrack There were many things i did not like about Mr Shardrack. He used to talk too much and create big issues out of small ones . Even when he had said nothing funny or amusing to anybody he would laugh loudly and start another story about his antics when he was drunk. “I remember one time back home , we had taken two full cups of sham each, then added a few bottles of tusker, man i was walking from one side of the road to another…… singing circumcision songs vigorously” he would say “ You should cut down on sham mister “ i tried to venture “ you know that is the night i swam in bad water by the roadside” he went on Shardrack never ceased to to talk about his crazy drinking escapades, he really liked his brew  than any thing else and his talks were usually sprinkled with politics. he could make good enough analysis of what was happening in the country although not good enough for someone with a degree in agriculture. may be what he did best was to teach mathematics to hi...

How to install windows XP and 7 without cd drive

Karanja irungu magutas blog Many people already know this, but for those who don't- suppose your CD drive is not working for whatever reason and you need to install windows 7 or XP ? well you can use a simple program to put the contents of the windows installation disk in a flash drive and install through USB. The program is called wintoflash and can be found here  http://wintoflash.com/  simply follow the instructions. this also means you have to have another machine with a working cd drive. Borrow one for an hour or use the one in the workplace during your free time  You can use the advanced option for a whole set up or the simple one to just get the installer. But please note this is for machines whose bios can accept booting from USB- that is machines which are not too outdated..
Karanja irungu magutas blog   Beloved Nyandarua ranges burn The burning Nyandarua ranges l ast week was not a good one for Nyandarua as the ranges famously known as Aberdare were on fire casting a smoky shadow over the county side. It is believed that the residents or more appropriately the ranges neighbors usually light this fire annually during the dry spell to insure that the rains come. Ironically it has contributed to scarcity of rain as the forest is never allowed to grow the ranges are a the source of several rivers notably River Malewa which gives a lifeline to Nyandarua residents and those of Nakuru. Its therefore a sad story viewing the mountain burn f ire on Aberdare ranges I did not seem to notice any one attempting to put off the fire despite a few calls by local leaders for the national government to assist. The ranges are a national resource so it beats comprehension why the national government should be persuaded t...
